Vietnamese business fined $10,600 for offering nearly 6,000 liters of substandard petrol

A fuel retail business in Thai Binh Province, northern Vietnam has been subjected to an administrative fine of VND259.9 million (US$10,600) for putting nearly 6,000 liters of substandard petrol up for sale, according to the General Department of Market Surveillance.
The chairperson of the provincial administration imposed the fine on Thuong Hoang Phat Trading Company, located in Vu Thu District, following a raid by market surveillance forces on the company’s gas station.
After testing samples of RON 95-3 gasoline at the station, the forces concluded that its gasoline’s quality failed to meet technical standards, resulting in nearly 6,000 liters of RON 95-3 gasoline at the station subject to the fine.
