Thoi Son Isle, nestled along the Tien River in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta region, has established itself as a captivating destination for both domestic and international tourists, boasting picturesque landscapes and enticing tourism offerings.
Located in the downstream of the Tien River, a branch of the Mekong River in southern Vietnam, Thoi Son is part of the namesake commune in My Tho City, the capital of Tien Giang Province.
The small island is enveloped by verdant, fruit-laden orchards and expansive green coconut gardens, offering visitors excellent opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.
In recent years, tourist operators in Tien Giang have prioritized the development of eco-friendly tours to explore local islands, including Thoi Son, aiming to offer both foreign and local travelers captivating experiences that showcase the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
These exploration tours align with the theme of 'Mekong Delta aiming at green and sustainable tourism development,' which was discussed at a forum held last month in Ben Tre, another province in the Mekong Delta region.
The forum was centered on fostering cooperation in tourism development between Ho Chi Minh City and all 13 provinces and cities within the delta.
“We're actively promoting island tours through social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok, while simultaneously refining our tourism products to ensure that visitors have unforgettable experiences and create lasting memories during their tours,” said Phuong, a woman running a tourist establishment on Thoi Son.
Visitors can reach Thoi Son after a brief 15-minute boat journey from My Tho cruise port in My Tho City.
During this scenic voyage along the Tien River, they will be treated to breathtaking views of lush greenery and abundant fruit gardens.
Upon arrival at Thoi Son, travelers can explore the small isle by electric tourist cars, a popular mode of transportation that has gained popularity locally in recent years.
Paldo I. Tomi, a Chilean tourist, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that despite having visited many places, the scenery, cuisine, and people of Thoi Son Isle have pleasantly surprised him, resulting in an exceptional tour experience for him and his companions.
He affirmed he would come back to the isle when he has free time and intends to spend more time than he did on this trip to further explore all that it has to offer.
On Thoi Son, foreign travelers can visit bee farms to learn about the unique beekeeping methods developed by locals in recent years.
They can also enjoy 'tra mat ong hoa nhan,' tea made with honey produced by bees that collect nectar from longan flowers.
Visitors can enjoy an exciting experience with an isle sightseeing tour by canoe, immersing themselves in the lush, green environment created by numerous coconut gardens around Thoi Son and along its canals.
Upon arrival, travelers can visit lush fruit gardens, where garden owners warmly welcome them and offer the freshest fruits picked directly from the trees.
They can enjoy live performances of Vietnam's traditional music by local artists as well.
