The Hue Monuments Conservation Center in Hue City, situated in Thua Thien-Hue Province, central Vietnam, on Friday announced its collaboration with Vietnamese technology company Phygital Labs to digitize 10 artifacts from the Nguyen Dynasty (1802–1945) and launch the first Metaverse virtual gallery.
The artifacts, including thrones, palanquins, ritual shoes, golden branches, jade leaves, and xăm hường game -- a traditional game which has the origin from Nguyen Dynasty’s inner palace, will be showcased at the Metaverse virtual gallery on museehue.vn.
Utilizing Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology and Nomion, a unique digital identifier for physical products, visitors can access digital content about the artifacts via their smartphones, providing insights into their history, origin, and cultural significance.

Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Hoang Viet Trung, highlighted that the Nomion technology, developed by Phygital Labs, supports the digitalization, preservation, and promotion of the artifacts and the dynasty’s heritage as a whole, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Trung further emphasized that the center and its partners aim to offer services at the gallery to promote Vietnamese heritage to global visitors, particularly the more than 20 million users of Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest.
