Hundreds of residents at an apartment building in Thu Duc City, an administrative district under Ho Chi Minh City, lined up waiting to collect water from water tankers on Wednesday night due to an unannounced water outage.
Water had yet to return at Ehome S Apartment Building in Phu Huu Ward on Thursday morning, turning dwellers’ lives upside down.
At 10:00 pm on Wednesday, residents of the apartment building gathered containers and buckets to collect water from a tanker stationed outside, as the water supply had been disrupted since noon.

Pham Thanh Quang, 24, stated that residents from all four blocks had to rely on water trucks to collect water for their daily activities.
“An unannounced water outage hampered our daily activities such as cooking and washing," Quang complained.
“I hope that the water supply will be restored as soon as possible."
A division of Ho Chi Minh City's water supplier, Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco), clarified that the company suspended water supply to the pipe on Mai Chi Tho Boulevard from 10:00 pm on Tuesday until 4:00 am on Wednesday in order to connect it with another pipe.
The move was aimed at facilitating the construction of a tunnel at An Phu Intersection in Thu Duc City.
Despite the resumption of water supply on Wednesday morning, Ehome S, situated at the end of the pipeline, experienced a delay in regaining access to water.
The water supplier dispatched 10 water tankers to the apartment building to provide residents with water.
The company also offered an apology to the affected households.
