-- Vietnam's Acting State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on Monday extended condolences to their Iranian counterparts over a helicopter crash on Sunday that killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and some other senior officials.

-- Vietnam persists with the 'One China' policy, recognizing Taiwan as an inseparable part of China's territory, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang said on Monday.

-- The administration in Da Lat City, located in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, said on Monday that it had fined a company VND90 million (US$3,534) for installing a pair of dragon mascots which were displayed on Nguyen Hue Flower Street during the 2024 Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet, in Da Lat without a permit and asked the company to dismantle the mascots within 10 days.

-- A video of five children dancing while crossing a street in downtown Da Nang City, central Vietnam has provoked outrage among netizens. Road-crossing dance is currently a trend on TikTok.

-- Many sections of the streets in Thu Duc City, an administrative district under Ho Chi Minh City, such as Kha Van Can, Hiep Binh, To Ngoc Van, and Duong Van Cam, were submerged under water due to a heavy rain on Monday evening, posing immense challenges for commuters.

-- The government in Hoi An, a famed tourist city in Quang Nam Province, central Vietnam, said on Monday that it had begun receiving registrations from families in Hoi An Ancient Town that seek to join a pilot program to allow tourists to experience their families’ daily life.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday received Nagavara Ramaroa Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, one of the biggest IT companies in India, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- “Indonesia's coordinating minister of investment said that Elon Musk will consider an offer to build an electric vehicle battery plant in the country, after the CEO of Tesla met with President Joko Widodo on Monday, according to Reuters.

-- “More than a third of Italian teenagers want to emigrate when they are older,” Reuters reported, citing a survey by national statistics institute Istat which also found that young people have become more anxious about the future.
