The operator of Le Thi Rieng Park in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 10, in coordination with the district-level administration, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a playground at the park on Thursday.
The facility was opened just in time for summer in order to provide both children and teens with physical and recreational activities at no charge.
Bui Tien Dat, a 14-year-old resident of District 10, said he was delighted that the playground had opened in his neighborhood.
Bui Kim Hoa, director of Le Thi Rieng Park, said that the playground spans an area of over 800 square meters, took five months to build, and cost VND116 million (US$4,550).
Speaking at the ceremony, Bui The Hai, vice-chairman of the District 10 administration, shared his excitement about the launch of the playground, expressing his hope that the park’s staff would develop more facilities like this to better serve the needs of local residents.
