-- A group of six foreign tourists and their tour guide were stranded for four hours on Ma Pi Leng Mountain Pass in Ha Giang Province, northern Vietnam due to torrential rain and landslides on Sunday afternoon.

-- It is predicted to rain across the country on Monday, with heavy downpours expected in the north and south, while the central region will see daytime sunshine followed by afternoon showers.

-- The local fire department managed to rescue five people from a fire that broke out at around 11:40 pm on Sunday at a house on Bac Hai Street in Ward 15, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City. 

-- Con Dao National Park on Con Dao Island off Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province in southern Vietnam on Sunday released 87 baby olive ridley sea turtles back into the wild. These turtles were born about two months ago from a mother olive ridley sea turtle that migrated from Malaysia to Con Dao to lay 108 eggs.

-- Scientists from various countries have recently unveiled a new monospecific genus named Chlorohiptage vietnamensis, discovered in the limestone mountains of Quang Tri Province, north-central Vietnam.

-- Local authorities announced on Sunday that they have successfully relocated 116 houses from high-risk areas to safer locations as landslides and land subsidence remain a pressing concern in the buffer zone of U Minh Thuong District, Kien Giang Province, southern Vietnam.


-- Gem collections and products, including diamonds, sapphires, and rubies, are currently on display at the International Jewelry Exhibition in Vietnam, held at Nguyen Du Sports Center in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City until Tuesday.


-- Crowds of people gathered along both banks of the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday evening to witness a spectacular series of performances featuring water motorbikes, jet boards, flyboards, sailing boats, and a stunning display of 1,100 drones illuminating the sky, marking the conclusion of the second Ho Chi Minh City River Festival.


-- All eight Vietnamese students who competed at the Asian Physics Olympiad 2024 held in Malaysia won medals, including one gold, one silver, and six bronzes, the Ministry of Education and Training announced on Sunday afternoon.
