One person was killed and another injured when a cave in Bac Kan Province, northern Vietnam collapsed on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities in the province said on Monday that the collapse took place in Lien Ket Village, Hiep Luc Commune under Ngan Son District at 4:30 pm the same day.
The cause of the tumble was suspected to be illegal gold mining, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
Two people were trapped inside the cave after the collapse, while another escaped from the incident himself, but he had his left arm broken.
After being notified of the cave-in, the province dispatched rescuers and police officers to the scene.

The path leading to the cave, some 500 meters from the main road, is rough and winding, making it tough for rescue operations.
One of the two victims, identified as Trieu Van X., 39, was saved and taken out of the collapsed cave safely at 11:20 pm the same day.
After over two days of search and rescue efforts, the body of the other, identified as Ma Van T., 39, was found around 2:00 am on Tuesday, according to the provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Division.
The victim died before the rescuers could identify his location in the cave.
