-- Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni hosted an official welcome ceremony for Vietnamese State President To Lam at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh on Friday afternoon. This is President Lam’s first state visit to the neighboring country since he took office last month.

-- A low-pressure area may appear in the East Vietnam Sea this weekend before strengthening into a tropical depression, affecting the northern and middle parts of the marine area, including Vietnam's Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, the national weather agency said on Friday.

-- Vietnam will send a delegation of 39 members to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games held later this month. The team, including 32 athletes, will be led by Dang Ha Viet, head of the Sports Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

-- A Sukhoi Superjet passenger plane crashed in the Moscow region on Friday and three crew members were presumed killed, the Russian emergencies ministry said, Reuters reported.

-- SpaceX's workhorse Falcon 9 rocket was grounded by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Friday after one broke apart in space and doomed its payload of Starlink satellites, the first failure in more than seven years of a rocket relied upon by the global space industry, according to Reuters.
