Fifteen pop-up stores were opened at industrial-export processing zones, culture-sports centers, and residential areas in many districts in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday, with items sold from VND1,000 (US$0.03).
The opening of these mobile selling points was part of the ‘Pop-up Sales - Market Stabilization’ program, which was rolled out by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade in collaboration of many retailers and e-wallet providers on the same day.
The program runs for 30 days, starting from August 6.
These pop-up stores offer a wide array of products across more than 40 categories at preferential prices.
According to the organizer, the program allows residents to purchase goods at discounts of up to 80 percent, with dozens of items available for just VND1,000.
Many products are priced at VND39,000-49,000 ($1.5-1.9).
Customers at these pop-up stores can also enjoy a variety of complimentary gifts.

Moreover, buyers who make cashless payments or use e-wallets such as ZaloPay, VNPAY, and MoMo to pay for products they purchase will be given numerous vouchers.
Through the program, 300 bags of goods will be awarded to disadvantaged workers and women.
Speaking at the launch of the event, Nguyen Nguyen Phuong, deputy director of the municipal department, said that a concentrated promotion program, called Shopping Season 2024, set to last until September 15, has been focusing on traditional trade channels, modern transactions, and online platforms.
The concentrated promotion program targets high-income earners, while the pop-up sale program was designed for low-income earners, Phuong said.
The 15 pop-up stores are expected to attract around 300,000 guests.
