-- A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh had meetings with Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and Speaker of the Legislative Council Abdul Rahman Taib in Bandar Seri Begawan on Saturday, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- Police in Pho Yen City, Thai Nguyen Province, northern Vietnam on Friday initiated legal proceedings against six people for allegedly sharing depraved videos and spreading fake news that a female worker of Samsung Electronics Vietnam Thai Nguyen Co. Ltd. transmitting HIV to 16 others.

-- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony for a tunnel at the intersection of Phan Thuc Duyen and Tran Quoc Hoan Streets in Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday. The tunnel is expected to ease traffic congestion in the Tan Son Nhat International Airport area.

-- Binh Chanh District Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday admitted five patients who were suspected of being poisoned with PAC (polyaluminium chloride), which is used in water treatment, a representative of the hospital said on Saturday.

-- Doctors at the Hospital of Hai Duong Medical Technical University in the namesake northern province have removed a 20-centimeter-long toothbrush from the stomach of a woman who accidentally swallowed it while brushing her teeth.

-- The organizer of the World Travel Awards on Saturday wrote to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in Quang Nam Province, home to the famed tourist city of Hoi An, announcing that the department won the title of Asia's Leading Regional City Tourist Board 2024. The department was the only representative from Vietnam to win the title.

-- The administration in Khanh Son District, Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Saturday evening opened a fruit festival, attracting thousands of visitors. The festival will last until Tuesday.

World News

-- “Brazilian emergency crews on Saturday recovered the remains of the 62 victims aboard an airline that plunged to the ground in the town of Vinhedo, near Sao Paulo the day before, killing all on board,” according to Reuters.
