As many as 152 workers were hospitalized for suspected food poisoning after their lunch at Sunrise Apparel Vietnam Company in Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam on Wednesday.
They developed symptoms of headache, nausea, and stomachache.
Some also suffered diarrhea.
The workers were later rushed to a nearby hospital.
Six of the affected workers showed signs of level-two anaphylactic shock, with symptoms including stomach pain, vomiting, widespread hives, and mild breathing difficulties.
The lunch that allegedly caused the incident was provided by a company in Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, and consisted of braised fish, boiled vegetables, tofu braised with minced pork, and rice.
Local authorities have collected food samples for testing to determine the cause of the incident.
