A 300-meter extended section of Ten Lua Street in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City was opened to traffic on Wednesday morning, easing traffic pressure in the area.
The six-lane street section from Road No. 29 to Provincial Road No. 10 helps connect the provincial road with Kinh Duong Vuong Street.
The project, which carries a price tag of some VND400 billion (US$16 million), also helps improve wastewater drainage on Provincial Road No. 10 and Ten Lua Street.
According to the Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City, which is the investor of the project, Ten Lua Street is a key traffic route in Binh Tan.
Traffic signs and lights have been installed on the extended street section of Ten Lua Street in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City. |
Along the route are many schools, including a newly-constructed one.
As a result, the investor and contractors expedited the project, completing it two months ahead of schedule to ensure the road was open to traffic before the new school year begins on Thursday.
Local resident Duong Ngoc Hung noted that the area used to be a large pond and that Provincial Road No. 10 frequently experienced congestion due to its narrowness and high traffic volume.
Now, with the street extension, the section has become more spacious, easing traffic and benefiting the community.
Sidewalks along the street section have been paved and trees have been planted along it. |
The extended street section ends at an intersection with Provincial Road No. 10. The area is often congested during peak hours. |
Ten Lua Street is connected with Kinh Duong Vuong Street in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City. After being extended, Ten Lua Street is two kilometers long and has six lanes. |
