-- The Politburo convened a meeting on Friday, imposing disciplinary measures against former Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, former Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, and former Secretary of the Party Central Committee Truong Thi Mai for violating the Party and state's regulations when performing their duties and assigned tasks.

-- South Korea’s KP Aerospace Vietnam, which specializes in manufacturing aircraft components, spacecraft and related machinery, opened its US$20-million factory at Da Nang Hi-Tech Park in Da Nang City, central Vietnam on Friday. The new facility will manufacture, process, and assemble aircraft parts for Boeing 787 and Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department confirmed on Friday that it had received a small loris voluntarily handed over by Ho Thanh Vu, a resident of Thu Duc City.

-- Heavy rainfall accompanied by whirlwinds struck Nga Nam Town in Soc Trang Province, southern Vietnam late on Friday morning, causing significant roof damage to 64 houses, leaving one resident injured, toppling trees and utility poles, and disrupting traffic flow, authorities confirmed the same day.

-- Northern Vietnam could experience severe cold weather as temperatures plunge to low levels, while heavy rainfall is expected in the central region and the southern part of the sountry may see scattered showers on Saturday, said the national weather center.
