-- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong hosted separate receptions in Hanoi on Monday for the ambassadors of Greece, Colombia, Panama, and six other non-resident ambassadors who came to present their credentials to begin their duties in Vietnam, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Society

-- Traffic police in Da Nang City, central Vietnam are investigating a case in which a convoy of supercars runs a red light in the city after a video of the case circulated on social media, a leader of the municipal traffic police said on Monday.

-- Authorities in Ninh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam are handling a complaint from a South Korean tourist whose five family members were injured after an Uaz vehicle carrying them overturned on the Mui Dinh sand dune at the end of last month.

-- A 31-year-old Vietnamese woman who collapsed at Incheon International Airport in South Korea was turned away from 13 hospitals and ended up giving birth inside an ambulance on Sunday, Chosun newspaper reported.

-- The Traffic Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Railway Authority, and related units in Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam on Monday worked with a group of seven students, aged nine to 15, who threw stones, breaking the windshields of a train on Sunday afternoon. The children said they threw stones at the train for fun.

-- Ho Chi Minh City police have proposed issuing an indictment against 30 defendants involved in an app-based loan shark ring led by a 35-year-old Ukrainian.

Business

-- A series of big-ticket projects, which are expected to serve as a driving force for the development of Thua Thien-Hue Province in central Vietnam, are set to begin construction on March 26. They include a hi-tech quartz sand processing project, an ultra-white floral glass production project, a logistics center project, and social housing projects, a local official said on Monday.

Tourism

-- The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province, located in south-central Vietnam, on Monday collaborated with relevant units to welcome 231 Russian tourists on the first direct charter flight after three years at Cam Ranh International Airport.

World News

-- Hikers attempting any of Mount Fuji's four main trails will be charged an entry fee of 4,000 yen ($27) from this summer, after local authorities passed a bill on Monday, AFP reported.
