Vietnam International Travel Mart – VITM Hanoi 2023 – kicked off in Hanoi on Thursday morning with the aim of introducing guests to travel products centered on exploring the different cultures of Vietnam and other countries from around the world.

The travel fair features more than 450 booths run by exhibitors representing provinces and cities across Vietnam, as well as tour operators and accommodation providers.

Representatives from 15 countries and territories, including Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and Nepal, also host booths at the event.

One of the highlights of the event has been the booth run by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) which gave guests the opportunity to try on a traditional Korean hanbok and take South Korean-style photos.

“We want to introduce visitors to South Korea’s tourism hotline which they can use to get information in Vietnamese about visiting South Korea.

“In the past, very few Vietnamese tourists traveled to South Korea in the winter, so South Korea wants to promote more winter tours,” said Lee Jae Hoon, KTO’s chief representative in Vietnam.

According to Hoon, Busan and Kangwon are amongst the South Korean destinations being most heavily promoted to Vietnamese tourists.

VITM Hanoi 2023 will span four days and offer over 10,000 discounted tours and travel products to visitors.

Bui Thanh Tu, marketing director of BestPrice Travel Company, said that tours to Thailand are now on offer for VND6.8 million (US$291), down from VND7.5 million ($321).

The prices of tours to South Korea were reduced to around VND16 million ($686) from VND19 million ($814).
