Vietnam wins gold medal at int’l circus festival

Vietnamese artists Hien Phuoc and Thanh Hoa secured a gold medal on Sunday at the International Circus Festival in Almaty City, Kazakhstan, with their unique circus act titled 'Moment of Love.'

Phuoc and Hoa’s performance captivated more than 2,000 international spectators attending the festival, considered one of the three major circus festivals in the world.

The duo are also the two lead performers in the circus play named 'Mysterious Persia' entertaining children at the Phuong Nam Art Theater’s circus in Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City during this summer.

Apart from Vietnam, performances from Russia and Yakutia also won the two other gold medals at the festival in Almaty City.

Six other acts were honored with three silver medals and three bronze medals.

The festival, which started last Wednesday and concluded on Sunday, gathered 100 skilled circus artists from diverse countries including Kazakhstan, Germany, Vietnam, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, the UK, the Czech Republic, Tajikistan, and Lithuania.
