The 2024 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will kick off in the capital of central Vietnam in June and July, featuring the participation of seven international pyrotechnic teams.
Among them, three will compete at the fest for the first time, the Da Nang City People’s Committee announced on Thursday.
The stage for the fireworks display will span a bank of the Han River, while art performances will take place on a stage erected on the sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street.
The seven international teams hail from France, Italy, the United States, Germany, Poland, China, and Finland.
They will compete alongside a team from Da Nang.
This year will be the first time teams from the United States, Germany, and China will put on fireworks shows in the city.

The festival, funded by Vietnam's Sun Group, will take place over the course of five nights.
The opening ceremony is slated for June 8, while fireworks performances will be staged on Saturdays during the subsequent weeks until the final round of the annual competition on July 13.
Each team will have 20 minutes to light up the sky over the capital of central Vietnam.
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival was first initiated in 2008.
This year will mark the 12th iteration of the event and is sure to continue the trend of bringing a surge in tourists to the coastal city.
During the first half of last year, the city served over 3.5 million tourists, up 116.6 percent year on year.
The number of international visitors reached 930,000, a year-on-year rise of 11.3-fold.
During that time, up to 150 flights arrived in the city each day, a 1.5-fold increase compared to normal days. Meanwhile, hotel occupancy rates surged to 70 percent.
