The administration in Tien Giang Province, southern Vietnam said on Wednesday that it will host the Fruit Festival 2024 at the Hung Vuong Square in My Tho City on June 10-12 in a bid to boost fruit sales.
The Tien Giang government will coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to hold the festival.
The fest will feature multiple activities, such as a seminar on improving capability and skills to promote fruits and fruit-based products on e-commerce platforms in association with live streams to sell products, another seminar on building a sustainable durian supply chain in the international market, and a conference to promote tours to orchards in Tien Giang and announce a digital tourism map of tropical fruit gardens in the province.
Participants in the event can also try street food and join a contest of making dishes from fruits, among others.
The event will accommodate areas for fruit, fruit-based product, and OCOD (One Commune, One Product) displays.

Director of the Tien Giang Department of Industry and Trade Luu Van Phi said the fruit festival was aimed at introducing specialty fruits from Tien Giang, the Mekong Delta, and Vietnam as a whole, fostering the promotion and sale of these fruits, contributing to socio-economic development in the province, region, and country.
From the festival, the province seeks to build Vietnamese fruit brands and promote beautiful images of Tien Giang and Vietnam as a whole to bolster trade, investment, and tourism.
The event will contribute to educating local consumers about the safety, quality, origin, and nutrition of Vietnamese fruits.
