The People’s Committee of Hanoi has announced plans to host the second Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024, aimed at revitalizing tourism by drawing visitors from across Vietnam as well as international tourists to the capital city.
The Hanoi Autumn Festival 2024, themed ‘Hanoi Autumn - Historic Autumn,’ celebrates the 70th anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954).
The four-day festival will kick off on September 12, with its opening music gala scheduled for September 13 at the flower garden near Ba Kieu Temple on Dinh Tien Hoang Street in Hoan Kiem District.
The spotlight of the festival will be a re-enactment of locals welcoming the victorious army with flags and flowers in celebration of the city’s liberation on October 10, 1954.
Other highlights include 150 stalls showcasing products from traditional trade villages, special seasonal dishes, and souvenirs.
These stalls will line the historic streets around Hoan Kiem Lake, including Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Thach Streets, as well as the Octagon House area.
Attendees can also enjoy captivating dance performances, featuring folk and sports dances, alongside a fashion show showcasing the elegant áo dài (Vietnamese’s traditional long gown).
Young visitors will have the chance to join parades, engage in painting activities, and explore exhibitions displaying children’s artwork.
Moreover, there will be a dedicated area highlighting Hanoi’s annual flowers and an entertainment zone, all designed to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the capital city.
