Indian tour operators are pushing Nha Trang, a popular beach city in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, as an ideal wedding destination for Indian couples, according to statements made at an India - Khanh Hoa tourism promotion conference held in the province on Wednesday.

The event, co-organized by the provincial administration and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, was part of the Namaste Vietnam 2024 Festival, which runs from August 25 to 31 and spans three locations: Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, and Da Lat City in Lam Dong Province.

With its huge potential for tourism thanks to pristine beaches and islands, Nha Trang is a perfect place to hold wedding ceremonies, Vineet Jain, founder of Vineet Jain Creations, an Indian wedding and event planner, said at the conference, which was aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between India and Khanh Hoa and promoting the opening of a Cam Ranh - India direct air route.

“We are planning to run wedding tours in Nha Trang for groups of 400-500 visitors,” Jain said, explaining that tourists on these tours not only attend a wedding party but also visit famous tourist sites in the area.

“We also aim to bring renowned Indian singers and artists to the city to perform in order to popularize tourist attractions in Vietnam among Indian travelers."

Abhineet Shukla, a representative of an Indian travel firm, noted that many Indian tourists are hesitant to visit Vietnam due to dietary restrictions.

"Vietnam offers stunning natural landscapes and is an excellent venue for large events, attracting many Indian entrepreneurs interested in hosting wedding celebrations," Shukla said.

He highlighted that the main challenges in Indian-Vietnam tourism cooperation include cultural and culinary differences, as well as the lack of non-stop flights between the two countries.

Shukla suggested focusing on enhancing cultural exchanges and boosting tourism promotion between Khanh Hoa and India.

The movie is set to be filmed in various scenic locations across Vietnam, including Da Lat, Da Nang, and Quang Nam Province, in September.
