Hanoi beat out major cities like Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo to be recognized as Asia’s Best Culinary City Destination at the fifth World Culinary Awards held in the United Arab Emirates earlier this month.

The Vietnamese capital also won the Asia’s Best Emerging Culinary City title at the 2023 World Culinary Awards.

Launched in 1994, the World Culinary Awards aim to honor excellent culinary destinations and tourism brands in the world.

Some restaurants and hotels in Hanoi, such as Hibana by Koki Restaurant and Capella Hanoi Hotel, were also honored for their culinary services.

In 2023, Travel and Leisure magazine crowned Vietnam as the Best Culinary Destination in Asia's Bucket List Places.

They recommended Hanoi, Da Nang City, and Ho Chi Minh City as top spots to savor Vietnam’s cuisine.
