Harvesting sticky rice, hunting clouds, enjoying paragliding tours, and kayaking in Ba Be Lake are just a few of the exciting activities awaiting visitors to the 'Autumn Hues of Ba Be Lake' festival in November.

The festival, slated for early this month in Bac Kan Province in northern Vietnam, will be hosted by the government of Ba Be District and aims to promote the area’s stunning landscapes and beautiful traditions.

The 'Autumn Hues of Ba Be Lake' festival will officially start at 8:00 pm on Friday in Cho Ra Town of Ba Be District and end on Sunday.

Ba Be Lake, situated some 220 kilometers away from the center of Hanoi, is one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes. It is also a key pillar in the rich cultural life of local Mong people.

Visitors who travel to Ba Be for the festival can immerse themselves in the daily lives of the Mong people in Phieng Phang Hamlet by joining them in harvesting sticky rice, visiting the waterfalls and Pu Lau forest, participating in 'khen,' a traditional Mong dance, and enjoying local cuisines.

Travelers can also immerse themselves in serene nature and cool weather while hunting clouds atop Don Den Mountain.

The highlight of the festival is expected to be the paragliding tours scheduled for Saturday in Don Den, Khuoi Slun, and Na Sam Hamlets.

Visitors who take part in Ba Be’s paragliding tours can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of amazing limestone mountain ranges, valleys covered with yellow rice fields, and the untouched beauty of Ba Be Lake.

A kayak race is also scheduled to be held at Ba Be Lake the next day during the festival.

To reach Ba Be, visitors can take the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen Expressway to the Thai Nguyen-Cho Moi Expressway and then exit onto National Highway No. 3 until they reach Ba Be Lake.
