Sa Dec City, located in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, is hosting the Tourism Week and the 2023 Spring Flower Festival, with roses as the themed flower.
Themed 'Sa Dec - The City of Roses, The City of Love,' the Sa Dec City Tourism Week from January 6 to 13 features a wide range of events aimed at promoting the city.
The city's famous Sa Dec flower village, which is widely recognized as the 'flower capital' of the Mekong Delta, is the main attraction during the events.
The over-100-year-old village inhabited for over five generations has managed to attract throngs of tourists in just its first few days.

Le Thi Minh Tam, a resident of Sa Dec City, expressed her pride in her hometown's flower village, which is slowly bulding a positive reputation with visitors from all over the world.
“Thanks to its brand-new tourism offers, Sa Dec draws visitors year-round," Tam said.
“Visitors come in droves during the twelfth lunar month each year.
“This year's event includes more ornamental plants than in prior years, which has helped to attract more tourists."

Growers of ornamental flowers earned VND150 million (US$6,395) per capita in 2020, said the department.
The Tourism Week will end on January 13 with a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Sa Dec City.
