Da Lat listed among Asia’s most affordable destinations

Da Lat, a city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, is amongst the most affordable holiday destinations in Asia for the end-of-year holidays, according to digital travel platform Agoda.

With an average room rate of US$60.5 per night, Da Lat stood at the fourth place on the list of budget-friendly cities for Christmas and New Year travelers.

Every December, the Vietnamese city transforms into a festive haven of twinkling lights and joyful celebrations, creating an enchanting backdrop for unforgettable holiday memories steeped in its cool mountain air.

But Da Lat's vibrant festivals and stunning natural landscapes also mean that rooms can be scarce and tourists should plan ahead in order to make sure they are not left out in the cold.

Thailand’s Hat Yai topped Agoda’s list, with accommodation costing just $46 per night, followed by Indonesia's Surakarta at $47.5 and India’s Varanasi at $49.

Vu Ngoc Lam, Agoda's country director in Vietnam, said the holiday season brings joy and cherished moments with friends and family.

It is also a time when expenses can quickly accumulate, making budget considerations crucial for travelers.

To compile its rankings of the cheapest destinations, Agoda looked at the room rates of the ten most popular cities in each of nine selected markets.

Since the rank is based on averages, deal hunters are likely to find even lower rates in these and other destinations on Agoda.

In Vietnam, Mang Den in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum, Da Nang City in the central region, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi are also full of the festive vibes during the holiday season.

Visitors who wish to visit these cities should make sure to book well in advance.
