The Center for Korean Culture will host four free of charge traditional Korean puppet performances in Hanoi from February 19 to 23 to celebrate its 10^th anniversary.

The two plays to be performed for the occasion are expected to attract young theater-goers with stories of Korean people and depictions of Korean lifestyle.

‘Dallea’s Story,’ scheduled for February 19 and 20, is a tear-jerking wartime drama about a family through the eyes of Dallea, an abandoned child.

The play has been performed in many countries and received the judges’ award when it was staged at the 2009 Titirijai International Puppet Festival in Spain, as well as the best performance prize at the 2012 Convention of the International Puppetry Association.

The other play, ‘The Tale of Haruk,’ is told in a more abstract manner, using nothing but recycled garbage for musical instruments, tools, and puppets.

It will take the stage for two nights, February 22 and 23.

Each show will be performed at the Youth Theater of Vietnam, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, Hanoi and will be free of charge for the public.
