A picture featuring the Notre-Dame Cathedral and surrounding area in downtown Ho Chi Minh City by night has recently been listed among the Most Popular Travel Photos of 2013 by Travel 365, the tourism magazine of National Geographic Channel.

The photo taken by Mario Weigt captures the inner city area at night, which is full of colorful and gorgeous lights on the streets with buildings, skyscrapers, and traffic.

The list also has other stunning photos showcasing the world’s other beautiful destinations, including Poland’s Pomerania, Spain’s Metropol Parasol, Iceland's Blue Lagoon, Norway’s Lofoten Islands, Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park, Maldives’ Coral Reef, Mount Everest and others.

Last September, HCMC was listed among cities with the lowest hotel room rates, according to a survey on the price of hotel rooms over the world in the first six months of the year carried out by website for hotel booking hotels.com. Also that month, HCMC War Remnants Museum ranked fifth in the list of Asia’s 25 most popular of TripAdvisor’s Travellers' Choice Attractions.

Earlier in June, the city ranked 15th in the list of top 25 destinations in Asia by TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice: Asia Destination Awards 2013.
