The Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) has held the inaugural event for the Malaysia Tourism Week 2013 with the theme "Colors of Malaysia" at the New World Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
With the event, MTPB has joined hands with the New World Saigon Hotel once again to bring Malaysian specialties, like Nasi Lemak, Chicken Masak Merah, Mutton Curry and Melaka Chicken Rice Ball, to HCMC.
Malaysia Tourism Week 2013, lasting until September 22, will offer a variety of activities including a tourism introduction program with many discounted tour packages and air tickets at HCMC-hosted International Travel Expo 2013 (ITE 2013), the “Colors of Malaysia” gastronomy festival, and traditional art performances.
Those activities are in line with the International Tourism Exhibition 2013 which will wrap up on Saturday.
At the expo, visitors can enjoy many unique Malaysian cultural activities, such as traditional dances of Malaysia, traditional kite crafting, painting and henna art and Teh Tarik tea at Tourism Malaysia booth.
In particular, visitors can receive discount vouchers for Malaysian Culinary and Cultural Festival 2013 when visiting the booth.
MTPB has continuously organized a series of activities for the "Visit Malaysia Year 2014" event in an effort to lure 28 million international tourists to the country by 2014.
In particular, it organized the main event, the Visit Malaysia 2014 Roadshow program, in Hanoi, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City in June this year.
The three-day annual tourism event ITE2013, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), was kicked off on Thursday. With the theme " Five nations - One destination " - including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand – the event is not only an exchange forum for regional and international tourism businesses, but also a place hosting many conferences and seminars to promote cooperation and development in the field of tourism in five aforementioned Southeast Asian countries. This year, ITE 2013 attracted more than 300 international exhibitors from 17 countries and territories, such as Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Netherlands, the UK and Germany, and 21 local ones. |
