Vietnamese carmaker VinFast, part of Vingroup JSC, and the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) launched electric vehicle charging services at 10 out of 500 planned filling stations nationwide on Friday.

The first stations equipped with the charging services are located in Dien Bien Province, Phu Tho Province, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa Province, Ha Tinh Province, Da Nang Province, Khanh Hoa Province, Tien Giang Province, and Ca Mau Province.

The chargers come in three types - 60kW, 150kW, and 300kW - and meet CCS2 standards.

Under the cooperation agreement signed by VinFast and Petrolimex in June, VinFast’s electric vehicle charging services will be available at over 500 Petrolimex stations across the country in the 2022-23 period.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Vu Thang, director of the VinFast charging station development center, said that the cooperation between VinFast and Petrolimex was aimed at promoting the use of clean and eco-friendly energy to create a green future for society.

Apart from teaming up with Petrolimex, VinFast is working to build charging infrastructure and workshop service systems nationwide to meet the needs of electric vehicle owners.
