NTT DATA, a member of NTT Group, which is one of Japan’s leading telecommunications company, has cut a deal with Vietnam Technology and Telecommunication JSC (VNTT) to shore up smart production and industrial park transition in Binh Duong Province, southern Vietnam.

The signing ceremony was attended by the leaders and officials of the Binh Duong People’s Committee and other agencies on Friday.

As per the deal, the Vietnamese and Japanese firms will employ smart solutions to help the owners of factories and industrial parks with smart production transition.

The partnership will also factor in technology transfer and training.

Via the cooperation, transition to smart production will be conducted at a series of industrial parks invested by state-owned company Becamex IDC, under the People’s Committee of Binh Duong Province, and Vietnam-Singapore industrial parks nationwide.

At the event, Becamex IDC Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding with VNTT to develop its industrial parks into smart ones with a green and sustainable ecosystem.

Such smart industrial parks will feature smart wastewater treatment facilities, security cameras, smart traffic, smart light systems and other smart utilities.

All these smart solutions will be monitored and managed by a smart operation center headquartered in WTC Tower in Binh Duong New City, a Binh Duong industry-service-urban complex project.

Pham Ngoc Thuan, general director of Becamex IDC Corporation, said that it was necessary to shift the model of industrial parks and factories in Binh Duong Province to beef up competitiveness and suit the new era.

Binh Duong Province is moving toward building science and technology industrial parks, thereby offering various incentives to firms which tend to tap the field.
