Vietnam e-taxi services to enter Lao market

Vietnam's electric taxi services will make a debut in Laos this year, GSM Green and Smart Mobility JSC said on Friday.
The firm is working to export electric autos to Laos to launch the taxi services.
The taxi service provider is set to start its operation in Laos with 150 taxicabs in the initial stage, and will expand its reach to 1,000 autos this year.
VinFast VF 5 Plus and VF e34 electric autos will be used for the taxi services in the Lao market.
The firm also aims to offer several business-to-business activities in Laos such as selling and renting Vietnamese automaker VinFast-branded electric vehicles.
Nguyen Van Thanh, CEO at GSM, said on his Facebook account that the company’s electric taxi services branded Green SM Taxi will go international, selecting Laos as its first destination.
The projected launch in Laos is part of the firm’s market expansion plan.
