National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) on bilateral cooperation with two leading airlines, Etihad Airways and Emirates, both based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in a bid to expand its international reach.
The signing ceremony took place on Monday within the framework of the Vietnam-UAE business roundtable held in Dubai with the attendance of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh as part of his official visit to the Middle Eastern country.
Nguyen Chien Thang, deputy general director of Vietnam Airlines, presented the signed MoUs to the representatives of Etihad Airways and Emirates in the presence of PM Chinh.
This event marked an important step in expanding Vietnam Airlines' cooperation with countries in the Middle East, while contributing to trade promotion, tourism connection, and economic development between Vietnam and the UAE.

Pursuant to the MoU with Etihad Airways, the two sides will engage in a partnership covering both passenger and cargo services, helping strengthen air connectivity between the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi and destinations in Vietnam.
This partnership is expected to expand each airline’s flight network while enhancing frequent flyer programs, ground services, maintenance, supply provisions, and technical support.
What is more, both carriers will explore collaborative opportunities in cargo transport, marketing, media, and experience sharing in aspects like digital transformation, big data, and cybersecurity.
With Emirates, Vietnam Airlines plans to strengthen routes between Vietnam and the UAE, as well as establish connections to key transit destinations.

The airlines are known for their high-quality services and extensive international flight network.
Vietnam Airlines, formed in 1993, currently owns a modern fleet of more than 100 aircraft, providing air transport services on nearly 100 domestic and international routes, connecting 1,150 global destinations.
