A group of three young Vietnamese has built a new online library website that helps people get access to more study materials at various levels, from K-12 to university knowledge, and both basic and advanced.
It all started more than three years ago when Mai Xuan Viet, Tran Anh Hao, and Vang Thi Ngoc Thuy created an online platform to provide users with materials they collected from different sources.
As time goes by, the three realized the necessity of making their platform interactive between content contributors and users.
They finally founded TEZ, an online library website that allows users to not only get the reading materials but to also contribute their contents, which will be reviewed by expert contributors including teachers and lecturers.
TEZ has been officially put into operation at https://tez.luyenthithukhoa.vn/ since January 2019, offering about 500,000 documents for both students and teachers.
Of the number, 70 percent are the results of research efforts by the three founders and teachers from several localities across Vietnam, while the remaining are obtained from the Internet, according to Tran Anh Hao.

According to Le Phuc Lu – an experienced math teacher working for tutoring centers, the advantage of TEZ is that it classifies materials in a way beneficial to users.
“TEZ provides users with more diverse and up-to-date materials compared to other online library websites,” Minh Thanh, a student at Phu Nhuan High School in Ho Chi Minh City, told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.
Apart from educational programs in Vietnamese textbooks, users can also get access to many international topics and written pieces, according to Thanh.
For the future development of the website, Hao told Tuoi Tre that his team had conducted a survey to get more insights into the market.
Based on the results of the survey, the website operators launched a subscription program, which charges each user VND599,000 (US$25.8) to get access to premium resources.
About 20 percent of the reading materials on TEZ currently require this subscription fee, attracting more than 7,300 members to sign up for the program as of October, according to Hao.
Hao said that TEZ aims to gain 100,000 users for the unpaid categories and 10,000 members for the subscription package by the end of this year.
“We hope that the website can turn into an encyclopedia-like platform for education for the easy and efficient study of the users in the near future,” Hao said.
TEZ has also recently made it to the ten finalists for the Creative Idea Contest organized by the Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City.
