Many students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry (HCMUAF) were deeply moved by the thoughtful gesture of their lecturer, who brought soft drinks to class to offer relief from the sweltering weather earlier this week.

A series of photos and a short clip capturing the heartwarming moment of the lecturer at HCMUAF bringing drinks to class for his students has sparked a wave of praise and gone viral on social media since Thursday afternoon.

The images depict the male lecturer, identified as Dr. Le Quang Thong from the economics faculty, carrying an icebox along with plastic cups and soft drinks into the classroom, ensuring each student receives refreshment amidst the scorching weather.

Many students expressed their gratitude for Thong’s kind-hearted gesture, recalling instances where he had previously provided candies, books, and pens to the class.

“Teacher Thong is so thoughtful; during lectures, he often presents pens to those who engage in classroom discussions, and at the end of class, he even treats the class to cakes,” said Nhu Quynh, a student at HCMUAF.

Thong himself explained that the recent hot weather in Ho Chi Minh City prompted him to take action.

The soft drink distribution occurred during a class on Thursday that covered basic marketing concepts, catering to first-year students from various majors.

“With temperatures soaring to 38-39 degrees Celsius, I couldn’t bear to see my students suffer without access to drinking water in the stifling classroom,” he said.

“Many students were fatigued by the heat, and I felt sorry for them.

“That’s why I brought an ice bucket from home and bought cups and soft drinks to distribute to the students in class.

“The priority is for students to enjoy their learning experience.

“School should be enjoyable for students to excel academically.

“The drinks I provided were inexpensive, and each student only had one or two cups, but they were thrilled.

“They mentioned feeling better and were more focused on their studies.”
