The Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) signed a partnership deal with DOL English, a prominent English language center chain, on Wednesday to equip UEF students with advanced English skills, helping them meet global language standards and improving their employment prospects.
The signing ceremony, held at UEF’s headquarters, was attended by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang, president of UEF, and Le Dinh Luc, CEO and founder of DOL English.
Through this partnership, UEF seeks to help students meet the university’s English language requirements – specifically, an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher – in a streamlined and efficient manner.
As per the agreement, DOL English will provide high-quality IELTS training programs, supply qualified teaching staff, and ensure that students achieve the required language proficiency.

The collaboration will also make use of cutting-edge technology to track students' progress and manage course enrollment.
“The exclusive teaching methodology from DOL English will enable students to easily attain their IELTS certification,” said Luc.
The program is designed to not only help students meet graduation requirements but also secure impressive scores for those pursuing higher academic levels, such as master's or doctoral degrees.
UEF students will sharpen their skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, which will not only boost their confidence in academic subjects taught in English but also give them a competitive edge when seeking jobs at prominent multinational corporations.

A key benefit of the collaboration is the convenience for students, who will be able to study on campus with the same high-quality IELTS preparation offered by DOL English, saving them time and travel.
Students will also have access to DOL’s unique Linearthinking method, which promotes logical thinking and structured learning, and benefit from modern technology platforms that make the learning process more efficient.
At the ceremony, Luc expressed his excitement about the collaboration.
"We hope that through this partnership, DOL English and our exclusive Linearthinking method, which has been recognized by the Intellectual Property Office, will play a vital role in refining students' English skills,” he said.
“In this era of artificial intelligence, English proficiency and soft skills are critical to competing in the global job market."
Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, UEF’s vice-president and president of the Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association, emphasized the strategic importance of university-business collaboration.
“Even leading universities worldwide often partner with businesses to provide specialized language training for their students," he said.
"At UEF, 50 percent of our curriculum is taught in English, and some programs are delivered entirely in English, requiring an IELTS score of 6.0 to 6.5.
“English is essential for our students, especially as the government has called for improving foreign language proficiency in schools."

Loc added that integrating technology into education is crucial.
“Technology allows for more accurate and reliable assessments of students’ progress, enabling teachers to tailor their instruction to individual needs,” he said.
“This collaboration with DOL English will streamline the learning process, making it faster and more effective.”
Luc also highlighted the benefits of technology-driven English learning.
"For students, having access to digital learning materials and real-time feedback means they can study at their own pace, even at odd hours. This flexibility accelerates the learning process and enhances engagement,” he said.
Through this partnership, UEF aims to provide students with the skills they need to succeed in both their academic and professional careers, positioning them to thrive in an increasingly competitive global environment.
