Well-known violinist Nguyen Huu Nguyen will perform at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music today, July 5.
Nguyen will join other artists including cello player Catherine Doise from the Paris Pasdeloup Orchestra and pianist Pham Quynh Trang from the Hanoi Conservatory of Music to perform works by Beethoven, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Glinka.
Born in 1972 in Nha Trang, Nguyen started with music at a young age. He also studied abroad in France and graduated with the highest marks at the Paris Conservatory of Music. He has been a soloist of the French National Orchestra since 2003.
He has performed in European countries and won international prizes, including the first prize of Group B at Hanoi’s National Autumn Music Contest in 1990, a gold medal at the Boulogne Billancourt Conservatory in France in 1996, and several prizes from chamber music contests in Paris in 1999, 2000, 2001.
The concert will take place at 8pm at 112 Nguyen Du Street in District 1.
