Thursday, November 28, 2013, 16:34 GMT+7

The 2013 Rockstorm festival, its sixth season, which attracts Swedish rock band Andromeda along with several well-loved local bands, will kick off in northern Hai Phong city on Nov 30 before moving on to six other cities and provinces during December 2013 and January 2014.

The show, themed “Burn with aspirations” is set to take place in Hue, Da Nang, Dong Nai province’s Bien Hoa city, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Hanoi on Dec 7, 14, 21, 28 Dec and 4 and 11 Jan, 2014 respectively.

The year’s most-anticipated rock feast will see the fiery performances of six local rock bands The Wall, Microwave, Ngu Cung, KOP, Oringchains and 18+band in its Nov 11 opening show.

The participating bands in the next shows will keep changing to create novelty and thrill among fans. The HCMC show will be livened up with Swedish rock band Andromeda.

The shows will convey a message to young audiences that no dream is far-fetched and out of reach and the thing that counts is that one dares to dream high.

Before each show, there’ll be two-hour exchanges in which fans will personally get to know their rock idols and young local rock groups will showcase their passion and talents.

Unlike the previous seasons in which admission was free, this year’s shows will sell tickets for VND30,000 (US$1.4). All the earnings will be donated to needy student assistance and Vietnam Operation Smiles’ funds.
