Vietnamese pop singer My Tam received the "Asia's Music Legend" award at an event titled “Top Asia Corporate Ball 2014” held Friday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In its second year, the event was organized by the Kuala Lumpur-based English language magazine “Top 10 of Asia” which introduces Asia’s excellence in many fields including arts, literature, culture, industry, personalities, lifestyle, innovation, and sports.

The event, supported by Malaysia’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Ministry of International Trade and Industry, is intended to honor Asian individuals, organizations, and countries which have outstanding achievements in numerous aspects in the hope of encouraging more accomplishments in the future.

The Vietnamese singer was presented with the award based on a survey conducted by the magazine to find the best singers in Asia.

This is also the first time a Vietnamese singer has won the title.

In May, My Tam was given the “Best-Selling Artists from Each Major Territory” award at the prestigious and well-known World Music Awards – WMA in Monte Carlo.

Other awards of “Top Asia Corporate Ball 2014” included Asia’s Top Nation for Academic Advancement, Asia’s Best Island Nation Destination, Fastest Economic Growth Nation in Asia, Asia’s Leading Corporate Social Responsibility Nation, Asia’s Most Inspiring Platform for Business Talents, Asia’s Best Nation in Argo-Industry Development, Asia’s Most Attractive Medical Tourism Destination, and Asia’s Most Liveable Nation.

Vietnam was also chosen as “Asia's Most Attractive Nation for Manufacturing,” topping the magazine’s survey on 20 countries for manufacturing on the continent.
