Vietnamese circus performers prepare for semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent 2018

Two Vietnamese circus performers who are brothers have left for the UK in order to prepare for the filming of the semi-final round of a popular British talent competition.

The dual showmen, brothers Giang Quoc Co and Giang Quoc Nghiep, who were previously successful in passing the judges’ audition of Britain’s Got Talent 2018, boarded the plane to the city of organization ahead of the semi-final shooting.

In the tryout round on April 21, the brothers thrilled the evaluator panel and audiences with their acrobat display titled “Suc Manh Doi Tay” (The Strength of the Arms) which brought them international awards and a Guinness World Record in 2016.

The British weekly television and radio program listings magazine Radio Times described “Suc Manh Doi Tay,” in which the two performed various technically-demanding stunts using their arms and hands, as a “death-defying audition.”

As a result, the compelling balance act helped the couple make it to the top 40 semi-finalists upon all four approvals from the quartet of judges.

After achieving the first round of success in Britain's Got Talent, the brothers were quite busy receiving many invitations to perform.

“However, the dual spent a lot of time refining and rehearsing for the semi-final,” said Hong Phuong, who is Quoc Co’s wife.

For the upcoming round, about five minutes will be added to “Suc Manh Doi Tay” for a jump that many people call "adventurous" and once introduced in the circus live show “Brothers” by these two at the Municipal Theater of Ho Chi Minh City in November 2016.

During their performance, Quoc Co balanced his younger brother Quoc Nghiep atop using only head-to-head contact while walking on the thin pole of bright yellow flowers.

The climax of the act was when Quoc Co, still holding Quoc Nghiep, jumped to the secure support which was more than one meter away.

It was so difficult and risky that in the live show that year, the organizers even arranged an ambulance in advance.

When the two brothers successfully performed the challenge, everyone exhaled in relief and stood up to applaud the talent and courage of the two artists.

Series Twelve of Britain's Got Talent began broadcasting in the UK on April 14, 2018.

The Giang brothers will stay in the UK until June 6 as their filming section will take place on June 3 and 4, according to Hong Phuong.
