DPRK National Day marked in Hanoi

The embassy of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) hosted a ceremony to mark the 64th anniversary of the country’s National Day (Sept. 9) in Hanoi on Sept. 6.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ho Xuan Son said Vietnamese people believe that the DPRK people, under the leadership of its Workers’ Party, led by First Secretary Kim Jong-un, will record greater achievements in building a strong and prosperous socialist country.

Son emphasised that the Vietnamese Party, Government and people always attach importance to the traditional friendship and cooperation with the DPRK which was fostered by late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kim Il Sung and nurtured by both countries’ leaders and people.

DPRK Ambassador Kim Chang-Il said that the founding of the DPRK on Sept. 9, 1948, by Kim Il Sung, the great leader, is a historic event, opening up a new era in the country’s history.

The diplomat affirmed to exert his utmost to develop the two countries’ relations in politics, economics and culture in the time to come.
