-- National carrier Vietnam Airlines has said it had requested authorities to investigate a case in which a passenger beat one of the airline’s female staff members at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi on Tuesday.
-- Three pilots on the Airbus EC 130 T2 helicopter on Wednesday were found dead by rescuers after the plane went off radar screens in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau during a training flight one day ago.
-- Truong Minh Tuan, Minister of Information and Communications, on Wednesday signed a decision to suspend Vo Dang Thien and Pham Thanh, editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief of the Infonet online newspaper. The two are under a 15-day investigation regarding their involvement in the newswire’s errors.
-- At a meeting with health authorities in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said dengue fever and Zika are getting more and more complicated. The southern region has recorded seven Zika cases including five in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Phan Trong Lan, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute, added.
-- Da Nang will end the operations of factories and manufacturing facilities in residential areas to ensure the safety of the living environment as well as developing the city’s tourism. The facilities are expected to be moved to a chosen location in Cam Le District in the next few years.
-- According to Doctor Nguyen Minh Quang, deputy director of the National Hospital of Dermatology and Venereology in Hanoi, during the past two weeks, the hospital has received around 50 patients a day for insect dermatitis. Most of them had had exposure to Paederus.

-- Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, Ho Chi Minh City’s performance organizing and cinema center, Ho Chi Minh Television (HTV), and the city’s Youth Social Work Center will organize a concert to raise funds for people suffering storms and flooding in the central region. The event will take place at 6:00 pm on Saturday at Sen Hong Stage in District 1.
-- The Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam will bring the “Kuricorder & Friends” show to Hanoi on October 26. Tickets will be released for free at the center from Friday.
