-- Participants who filled Hang Ma Street in Hanoi on Friday night to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival have left behind a huge amount of trash.

-- A tractor trailer strayed into the motorbike lane on Thanh Tri Bridge, which connects Long Bien and Hoang Mai Districts in Hanoi, on Friday afternoon, killing one driver and injuring three others as he crashed into several motorbikes.

-- Three out of a group of eight elementary students drowned when they went swimming at Soai Chek Lake in Tri Ton District in the Mekong Delta Province of An Giang on Friday afternoon.

-- A 25-year-old man in the Mekong Delta Province of Kien Giang appeared to have been murdered before his body was thrown from an apartment to the ground in the provincial capital city of Rach Gia on Friday afternoon.


-- National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced on Friday that its telephone check-in service will be available for passengers of domestic flights from Hanoi, starting on September 15, five months after it was launched for flights from Ho Chi Minh City.


-- The northern Vietnamese province of Yen Bai said on Friday it has ditched a plan to seek Guinness World Record recognition for a folk dance performance involving 5,000 participants, even though the mass dance will be organized next week as planned.

-- “Tales of Legends,” an exhibition showcasing Vietnamese culture by featuring silk paintings and beaded outfits by Vietnamese artist and fashion designer Tran Thanh Canh to depict the legendary Princess My Nuong in the country’s folk stories, is taking place in Melbourne, Australia until October 3.

-- The exhibition “Streets vendors and street cries of Hanoi” is presenting a collection of sketches, drawings and watercolor paintings of street vendors created by prominent Vietnamese artists, including Le Pho and To Ngoc Van, at the Institut Français de Hanoi – L’Espace in Hanoi until October 31.

-- Vietnam’s National Film Festival 2019 will take place in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on November 23-27, the organizer told a press conference on Friday.

-- A photo exhibition kicked off in Mexico City on Thursday and will run until September 30 to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese land and people to Mexicans and international friends.
