-- Ceremonies were held in Bangkok on Monday evening to wrap up the 35th ASEAN Summit and related summits and hand over the ASEAN chairmanship for 2020 to Vietnam.

-- Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has recently issued a disciplinary warning against Vu Van Ninh, who was Vietnamese Deputy PM between 2011 and 2016, for his serious violations and shortcomings while in office.

-- A tropical depression formed in the East Vietnam Sea on early Tuesday morning and is expected to travel eastward and upgrade into a storm on early Wednesday morning.

-- Authorities in Xuyen Moc District in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have decided to turn a 10-hectare beach that was previously zoned for real estate and resort projects into a public space for beachgoers and for local residents to sell their seafood.

-- The Cuu Long Corporation for Investment Development and Project Management of Infrastructure has suggested to the Ministry of Transport the construction of an over-VND33 trillion (US$1.4 billion) expressway that connects Ha Tien, Rach Gia, and Bac Lieu Cities in the Mekong Delta.

-- The General Department of Vietnam Customs has decided to confiscate the Volkswagen Touareg CR745J automobile that was found having a GPS map containing the illicit ‘nine-dash line’ at the Vietnam Motor Show 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City last month. The importer of the car is also expected to be slapped with a fine and temporary business suspension.

-- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced a new project on promoting urban energy security in Vietnam during a recent event held in Ho Chi Minh City.

-- Ho Chi Minh City is joining relevant agencies of Vietnam in a tourism promotion program at the World Travel Market London (WTM London) 2019 organized in the UK on November 5 and 6.
