Mountaineer found dead on Vietnam’s southern peak

Mountaineer found dead on Vietnam’s southern peak

Tuesday, May 25, 2021, 15:30 GMT+7

Police in Vietnam are investigating the death of a mountaineer whose body was found on a mountaintop on Monday.

The body was first spotted by tourists climbing Chua Chan Mountain in Xuan Loc District, Dong Nai Province with personal items scattered nearby.

The victim was later identified as N.D.T., 45, who hailed from northern Hai Duong Province and visited Chua Chan Mountain for a solo climb.

T. might have incurred a sudden death caused by bodily failure, a preliminary inspection by Xuan Loc police suggested.

The body was lowered to the ground through the Chua Chan Mountain cable car line and then sent to a morgue for a further autopsy.

The management board of Chua Chan Mountain has advised tourists and mountaineers to keep up with weather updates, prepare themselves a good health condition, and pre-empt the risks before climbing the mountain.
