Two people were killed and two others hospitalized after scaffolding collapsed at the construction site of a restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City last weekend.

On Sunday, police in Thu Duc City under Ho Chi Minh City confirmed they were investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred at the construction site of Kim Dung Restaurant in Binh Tho Ward on Saturday.

Preliminary information showed that a group of four construction workers were performing their tasks on the scaffolding when the structure collapsed.

Two of them were killed while the other two were seriously injured.

The deceased victims were identified as H.T.G., 42, a Thu Duc City resident, and D.H.H., 38, who hailed from the southern province of Kien Giang.

The construction was suspended as of Sunday.
