Public workers in Vietnam will enjoy a total of four days off from September 1 to 4 to celebrate the upcoming National Day (September 2), according to the guidance issued by the Government Office.

Laborers in the country are entitled to two days off on National Day (September 2) and one preceding or following day, the guidance quoted Article 112 of the Labor Code as saying.

If these days off coincide with a weekly day off, people will be given an extra day off as compensation.

This year’s National Day falls on Friday, so public workers will have a total of four days off running from Thursday, September 1, to Sunday, September 4.

This schedule applies to officials, civil servants, and employees of administrative agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations.

Agencies and organizations that do not implement a fixed work regime with two days off every weekend should rely on their specific operation plans to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.

Employees who work on National Day are entitled to at least 300 percent of their salary in accordance with the Labor Code.
