-- Police in northern Quang Ninh Province announced on Tuesday night the arrest of three men and one woman for stealing nearly 3,000 meters of electric cables from the Van Don - Mong Cai Expressway after the route was opened to traffic on September 1.

-- The Ministry of Finance has agreed with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs’ proposal to let workers enjoy a break of nine days for the coming Lunar New Year holiday.

-- The situation of vendors selling street food and tourists filming and photographing near rails, violating railway traffic safety, has recurred in some districts in Hanoi with railways passing through in recent days, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- The Ministry of Health reported 3,301 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, raising the national tally to 11,444,927.


-- Drama thriller ’The Brilliant Darkness!’ won the Best Feature Film at the 2022 Golden Kite Awards, Vietnam’s version of the Oscars, at a ceremony held in south-central Khanh Hoa Province on Tuesday night.

-- Some U.S. railroads will start halting crop shipments on Thursday, a day ahead of a potential work stoppage, threatening exports and feed deliveries for livestock, Reuters quoted an agricultural association and sources at two grain cooperatives as saying on Tuesday.

-- Higher temperatures and rainfall that weaken ice walls caused part of a hanging glacier to break off at a national park in Chile’s Patagonia region in an event captured on video by tourists, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
