-- Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday evening, concluding his official visit to China at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

-- Crown Prince of Denmark Frederik and Princess, along with representatives of Vietnamese ministries, witnessed the signing of 14 memoranda of understanding on cooperation at the Vietnam - Denmark Sustainable Energy Summit Forum in Hanoi on Tuesday, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam from Monday through Thursday.

-- The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has forecast that a cold front would hit the northern region, lowering temperature to as low as 15 degrees Celsius and causing rains from Wednesday evening.

-- A 67-year-old Vietnamese-French man, who was also a swimming coach in France, drowned at a beach in Nha Trang City, south-central Khanh Hoa Province, on Tuesday morning after he swam there against strong wave warnings.

-- Police in Hanoi announced on Tuesday that the vehicle registration database showed the owner of the Ferrari that killed a man in a crash in Nam Tu Liem District a day before is a foreign diplomat. The car driver - a Vietnamese - and his female companion fled the scene after causing the fatal traffic accident.

-- The People’s Committee of central Thua Thien-Hue Province announced on Tuesday a plan to put the Ho Thuy Tien Park, which had been abandoned for several years, back into operation in March 2023 after completing a VND20-billion (US$804,300) renovation project that was declared in September.

Business

-- Vietnam increased the RON95 gasoline price by VND410 to VND22,750 ($0.91) per liter and RON92 price by VND380 to VND21,870 on Tuesday afternoon, marking the third hike since October 11.

-- As many as 108 of 550 fuel stations in Ho Chi Minh City, or nearly 20 percent of the total, are enduring an inventory shortage, director of the municipal industry and trade department Bui Ta Hoang Vu told a meeting on Tuesday afternoon.

-- About 2,000 automobiles were sold and thousands of orders for upcoming auto models were placed during the Vietnam Motor Show 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City from October 26 to 31, according to the organizer.

-- The People’s Committee of Lai Chau is going to organize a ginseng fair to promote investment in and development of ginseng areas in the northern province from November 11 to 13.
