A South Korean traveler was killed after his motorbike crashed into a roadside power pole in Da Lat, a well-known tourist city in Vietnam, on Saturday morning.

Da Lat police officers on Monday identified the male tourist as Lim, a 54-year-old South Korean national.

He registered for an accommodation at Ham Da Alley, Ward 10, Da Lat City under Lam Dong Province from last Wednesday to this Tuesday.

At about 2:30 am on Saturday, the accident happened when the man was riding a motorbike from Tran Hung Dao Street to Hung Vuong Street in Ward 10.

The motorbike was seriously damaged.

A nearby power pole showed signs of being hit hard.

Local authorities later concluded that the tourist’s motorbike ran into the power pole and he fell off it.

Some witnesses took him to the Lam Dong General Hospital for emergency but he died later due to severe injuries.

Medical workers kept his identity papers and transferred them to the Da Lat authorities a day later.
