Vietnamese man arrested over rape and death of 70-year-old woman

A 67-year-old man in Dong Thap Province, southern Vietnam has been detained for raping a 70-year-old woman who was suffering stroke paralysis, leading to her death, after having violating her once, local police confirmed on Sunday.
The accused was identified as Bach Van Liem, a native of My Tan Commune in Cao Lanh City, the capital of Dong Thap.
The victim, H.T.H., was living in the same neighborhood as Liem.
At around 10:15 pm on Friday, a relative of H. reported the alleged rape and death of H. to the local police.
Police officers came to the scene immediately for investigation and identified Liem as the suspect.
Liem, while at a local police station, admitted that he knew his neighbor, H., was suffering from paralysis after stroke, so he sneaked into her house to rape her on Friday night, resulting in the death of the ailing old woman.
He also confessed that he had raped her once earlier.
An autospy report revealed that H. died of a heart attack.
